Where is my muse?
These past few weeks have not been terrible. I have had some great times with friends and even at work. My issue is with my writing. My muse is hiding from me, keeping me from inspiration. I have a moleskine and I find little things to write in it, but that is not enough. I want full stories.
I know that writing is work. A lot of work.
I just wanted to write something on my already dead blog.

Day off and running with it.
Today was my day off. I began with a nice run, about 5½ miles. It was early enough so the air was cool. About half way home, I noticed a car pull over to the side of the road with a flat tire. Wanting to help, I stopped and asked the lady if she needed some help. She didn't know how to change a tire so she was more than relieved with a helping hand. I have had some skill with changing a tire, it's not like it's hard, or so I thought. After I jacked the car up, I preceded to loosen the bolts. That is when I ran into some difficulty. The bolts were on so tight that even with both the lady and me pulling on the wrench, it wouldn't budge. I tried one last effort and heard a pop in my shoulder, I hope that's not serious, I thought. I gave up when she told me she would call one of her relatives to help, they have power wrench. She was thankful that I had stopped. I am hoping that I didn't hurt myself. The marathon is coming soon.

93 days till the Portland Marathon.
I have enjoyed these past few months riding my bike. Being outdoors with the wind on my face and dodging traffic. Also, I have saved a lot of money by not driving. I now have a car, but I haven't given up on my fitness goals. I recently signed up to the Portland Marathon, and though I have talked about running the marathon, signing up and paying makes it official.
Training for a marathon is not like riding a bike. It's a different challenge all together. For one, there is more punishment on your body when you go running. The pounding on the pavement is difficult on your joints but the benefit in the long run (pun intended) is well worth it.
There isn't much time for the marathon, but I'm sure I'll have a good time even with the difficult pounding.
