Some friends and I watched "30 Days of Night" It was one of those bad movies, that you love to make fun of. If you want a synopsis of the movie click here.
It was one of those movies that foreshadows too much. It wasn't even scary. The only thing believable about the vampires were, they were gross and weird. Their blood stained faces with mouths agape made them look dumb. The "language" they spoke didn't coincide with the subtitles, which gave an impression that you were missing something. There was also some agenda that the vampires were up to, but that too was confusing. The characters were not developed at all, so there wasn't any emotional attachment when a vampire got them.
It's only worth watching with friends, so you can make fun of it.

Connecting with people can be awkward.
Working in retail has it's ups and downs. The constant repetition of greeting, and saying it like you mean it, to each and every customer, can be a little stressful. It doesn't matter if you are having a bad day or if the last customer was a complete jerk, you're here for the customer so put on your happy face.
It isn't all bad. The thing that makes the job rewarding, is the connection I get with people. I hear stories and learn facts that make the whole experience worth it. Although sometimes I get more than expected.
For example:
"Hello, how are you today?", I smile and begin the order.
"I'm fine thanks", she says.
"Did you do anything interesting today?" I ask.
She takes a moment and thinks about her answer.
"Well, I got a mammogram today. That was interesting."
"Um" I feel a little awkward and am sure it's communicated on my face.
"You asked." she replies sensing the awkward tension.

To blog or not to blog, that is the question.
Blogging has become part of the culture. It isn't everything, but is an aspect. I have jumped on this bandwagon and have jumped off in search of "better" things. The blog can be strange. I guess it depends on what you are going to blog about.
Lately I have not blogged. The reason for that is, I don't often have things i want to put out in the internets. The tubes get so bogged with trash as it is, that i don't feel like contributing to the pile. Work is my other excuse, I often come home tired and even things i want to do, take a back seat to rest.
There it is. I might update this blog, or not.

My new favorite band- Editors
Here are four reasons why Editors are cool.
- They're from the U.K., that makes them cool already.
- I saw them live and they rocked.

Portland Marathon.
I did it, again. I completed the Portland Marathon. There is something very satisfying about crossing the finish line after running 26.2 miles. It was tough, I am not going to lie about that, it was also wonderful. Some people don't even dream about running a marathon, and the very thought is confusing to them.
I am looking for another challenge. I am thinking of doing the Seattle to Portland. It's a bike ride from Seattle to Portland. The 200 mile ride can be completed in one or two days. Here's to another challenge and I am sure I'll finish this one too.
